Isabella's Post: Day 6- Li Jiang

Yesterday we spent our day in Li Jiang, but the day mainly consisted of travel so we did not get to experience the cities full culture and highlights.

The city of Li jiang is an ancient city with cobblestone roads surrounded by cute little shops. There are people bustling to and from and walking around the colorful streets. As you walk down the street you can hear the vroom of the mopeds and sizzle of the foods, the Mood of the city is such a fun and exciting place to be.

This morning we woke up minds bright and ready for our exciting day ahead of us. We headed to breakfast and ate fried rice and noodle soup. Our next event was a walk through a beautiful park with a river running through it, and a perfect view of the Jade Snow Mountain. The park eventually lead to a range of cute little shops selling trinkets of sorts, where we walked around for about an hour.

Our next stop was a minority temple where many people visited for it’s beauty and the religion aspect. Inside the temple was a big, golden, Buddha staring down at you. The temple was quite an experience when the Tibetan women started pulling us in to dance and sing with them.

Next up was a delicious lunch.  We stopped at this cute little restaurant, where they had delicious food like bean sprout noodles and vegetable chicken. We were stuffed to the brim after our huge meal.

After lunch we had some extra time to spare, so we got to shop and look around the cute little shops. There were so many cute tea houses and and restaurants that smelled so good as you passed them, also many clothing stores with the most fashionable things. The shopping was so much different from America, because of the types of foods there are and the types of goods they sell, but it was such a great and fun experience.

Following on our adventure was a monitory performance, which consisted of beautiful, vibrant costumes, singing, and dancing. The performance was in a big theatre with people filling every seat. When the show began I didn’t know what to expect. The play had told a story of love though singing, dancing, and most unique and bright costumes.

When the performance had ended it was time for dinner and we ate at a local hotel, with so many different options.

We continued the night with a two hour study hall, struggling to keep our eyes opening and when it finally ended, dragging our selves to our room, exhausted, but eager to sleep and began our next day.
